Writing Each Story for His Glory

cfrb march tour - one smooth stone

From the back cover: No matter how far you run, God will find you. No matter how bad you’ve been, God will forgive you. Alex Donnelly is running and trying to hide. He has picked a good place to do it – The Yukon – but he is pursued by friends, enemies, and most effectively, by God. Burning with the need to know about his parents, Alex returns to his birth-city, Seattle, where he discovers that his mother tried to abort him. The trauma sends him on the run again only to find out God has orchestrated a divine appointment for him back in the Yukon. The story is filled with miraculous healing, struggles with rage and an obsession with revenge for a childhood abuser. This story illustrates that God never gives up on those whom He has chosen.

One Smooth Stone by author Marcia Lee Laycock is an exceptional thriller that kept me interested from the first page to the last. The characters are well developed and the story so intriguing that I found the book hard to put down.

The message is clear – God loves us, no matter what we’ve done and He is there for us waiting with His arms outstretched to accept His offer of forgiveness and salvation. However, this book is in no way preachy. It is real and gritty, just like life. Sometimes we have to go through the dark before we look up and see the light, and the character of Alex Donnelly experienced that kind of darkness as an abused child in the foster-care system. I would love to tell you what happens, but why would I deprive you of reading this marvellous book and finding out for yourself?

About the Author

Jessica Adriel is a licensed minister, author, mother and speaker. She spends her days penning books, preparing talks and delving into the world of teenagers. Her gifts of communication and compassion were noticed early on when she composed over 800 poems during high school and yet spent a great deal of time with volunteer efforts.

A native to New England, it was Jessica’s tragic stint of car accidents, assaults and a four year career in modelling, that inspired her to write ‘real life’ novels that impact teenagers. Today Jessica inspires and ignites teens to find their God given purpose through her books and challenging seminars. Her stories provide a bridge between today's generation and the pressures of media and peer pressure which lead teens in the wrong direction. Armed with a plethora of stories and a deep love for God, Jessica introduces her audience to Christ in unconventional, yet very powerful ways.
