Laura J. Davis

I reside in Southwestern Ontario with my wife, May, and am pastor of a congregation in a rural village.  Write a weekly inspirational column in our community newspaper (The Watford Guide-Advocate); write short fiction, short biography, and Bible character sketches.

In a former life I was a piano tuner-technician, and still enjoy hands-on music, playing piano, organ, and accordian (95% ear-playing), and still manage to pull off a tenor self-accompanied solo (well, some- o' -the-time). Much of that is now done in seniors' residences, although I inflict such a blast on my congregation, from time to time. Also, I'll occasionally write poetry and praise/worship songs.

My first book, Parables from the Pond, was a finalist in Word Alive Press' 2007 contest, and was published by them in 2008. It is being read by young and old and many folks in between. Specific uses have been bedtime stories, family devotions, supervised reading in Christian school, seniors residential readings, and a hospice for children from troubled backgrounds.

I am very honoured to be a member of The Word Guild and a colleague and friend of a growing cadre of writing acquaintances with a Christian worldview.
